1. The most important thing I learned about immigration in the late 19th-century is the many push and pull factors. This is the most important thing because it gave me a much better understanding about why so many people migrated to the United States in that time.

2. The most important thing is that there is no correlation between immigration and crime on the national crime rates, but there is a correlation between immigration and crime in sanctuary cities. This is important because we are constantly fed the narrative that the crime rate is directly tied to immigration.

3. The two most challenging aspects of 19th-century urban living was the city sanitation and high mortality diseases. America as a whole did a very good job of cleaning up their cities and putting in sanitation departments nationwide. America cleaning up their cities lowered the spread of disease and there were many innovations in things such as vaccination and the knowledge of how diseases spread.

4. There are many similarities between the Highline and early progressivism. The whole idea of a highline was a very progressive thought because instead of just tearing it down or using it to make money people decided to use it as a place for everyone to be able to go to for free to get away from the city. It also was a progressive thought to put an area that is filled with greens and plants in the middle of the biggest city in the country. It is dissimilar from progressivism because many of the early progressive thoughts and plans were to better the life or people, while the Highline does better the lives of some people its soul purpose was not to better the lives of everyone.
