Lincoln movie

1. Lincoln and Stevens were very uncompromising when it came to the freedom of slaves. They would, however, compromise on the full equality of slaves. Stevens did this when he said that he only believes in the equal freedom of the law for slaves but that they are not equal to white men.

2.  The movie provided evidence of Lincolns perspective by showing throughout the movie that he is working to free slaves and is doing lots of things to try to get the votes that he needs.

3. Lincoln  believed the 13th amendment was essential because he saw that slaves tore the country apart and he believes that it is necessary to keep the union together.

4. The movie complicated the idea that all northerners were against slavery by showing that there was a very large amount of representatives in the north that were for slavery and were trying to reject the 13th amendment.

5. The film depicted that people in the north were against slavery because they thought that white people were superior to black people and they thought that this was a major step towards complete equality.
