Coffee - Coffee was a staple drink of the Civil Rights movement after a group of African Americans sat down at a segregated diner in Greensboro N.C. and ordered a coffee. By doing this, the African Americans showed their opinions on segregation and launched a Greensboro sit in.

Pork Chop - The pork chop was a main dish at Paschal's. Owned by two brothers, Paschal's was one of the only black owned white table cloth restaurants in Atlanta. The restaurant served free food and provided safety to civil rights organizers of the time.

Biscuits and Gravy - Biscuits and gravy were a staple of Georgia Gilmore, which was a cafeteria worker in Montgomery AL. She was fired from her job after her support of the bus boycott in 1955. Martin Luther King then encouraged her to open up her own restaurant, which she soon did. She then went on to feed thousands of civil rights organizers that came to Montgomery.

Collard Greens - Collard Greens were the main side dish at the restaurant "The Four Way" in Memphis Tennessee. The Four way was a comfort food restaurant that Martin Luther King and other civil rights organizers often visited the restaurant to eat and talk about their plans.
Dessert

Pie - Georgia Gilmore organized the "Club from Nowhere". This club sold pies, cakes, cookies, and other baked sweets to found the Montgomery bus boycott.
